I'm not sure if many people have seen them but Notts TV did exclusive interviews with both loach and Fullerton, I'm not sure if this is a regular thing but I've never seen them before so I thought I would share!

Notts TV also do 'fanzone' and 'prozone' on where they discuss the ones over the Trent, us and the ones down the road, Charlie/ian Mcpartland (I'm not sure which people call him or why) is also on there, I don't normally watch notts TV so I'm not too sure how many other notts fans do but sometimes there is some decent stuff on there!

Hello everyone!

I felt I had lurked around PON, leeching information and insight from the landing page and the forums while contributing nothing myself, for well long enough. So I decided to join up, top up the donations, and write something relevant about myself and the club we're all here to discuss. Here goes.

My father is Italian. His name is Giovanni. Go figure.

His father was also Italian. Very Italian. The kind of very Italian that borders on offensive in that I firmly believe the bulk of modern Italian stereotypes to be based on him personally. In any event, when I was young and he would come to visit his son and his very not Italian wife Debs (dear old mom), he and my father would chat football. Extensively. And during their discussions, my grandfather would make references (rarely mind you) to something he called "quella vecchia signora". This precipitated more impassioned football talk. Naturally.

These are Italians after all.

When I got older, I learned that "quella vecchia signora" translates approximately to something along the lines of "that old lady" or "that old girl". He was, of course, referring to Notts County. I never talked about the club much with him when he was with us. Possibly not at all. He was too busy tousling hair, being obnoxiously overbearing about school, and reinforcing (in his own subtle way) the importance of understanding football by examining it through the lense of his beloved Bianconeri. Always and forever. Juventus for life.

As a Magpie fan, I'm sure you've now made the connection. Unfortunately for his legacy, my interest in Juventus... and football in general... waned and eventually all but disappeared; replaced by a real personal investment in distinctly more Canadian sports like hockey. This all changed when we moved to England and Belgium for a good long spell; over half a decade bouncing between the two in order to keep up with my father's business. This was the time when English "town" football (no big top tier clubs) became so very important to me.

Well over a decade on, I am not joking when I say that I have memorized, conservatively speaking, 90% or more of the Definitive Notts County. And I rarely miss a game. I listen in online of course; good vibrations in my ears while watching my kids play on Saturday mornings. My daughter Kate is becoming quite the little footballer. Her favorite "grown up" possession is a signed glossy of Alex Greenwood her mother and I had framed for her. She's gone and hung it over her bed. Hence my avatar.

These kids are almost at the age when a real understanding of quella vecchia signora, that old lady, is something I'll be passing on to them.

I don't post much these days. About anything. Work governs, and time with my family is my respite. And when I do write something, I like it to be thoughtful and I want it to make an impact on whoever reads it. So I will sum up with this; the present condition of our club is only meaningful in the context of how that condition affects the angle of our discourse and what future prospects we lean toward encouraging the pursuit of. What drives us to love our club is something far less contemporary. More primal. And unshakable.

Quella vecchia signora will rise again. Of this I am certain. Her present condition will simply make the journey all that much more bumpy. And exciting. I hope Jamie can squeeze some solid performances out of what one of the other PON posters here referred to as "our strongest 11" in the coming matches, and I also hope that the club after Trew will find its footing and re-establish itself as a strong FL staple and campaign contender. I really like PON. Great work here. And I wish you all the best going into Saturday against Grecians and beyond.

I know Stuart left his media job at Notts just recently. What I didn't realise was this piece he had written for the Post. It takes a great deal of ***** to stand up and say you have a problem. I sincerely hope he gains meaningful employment soon. 

This is the highlight of the sporting year for me, always a terrific atmosphere and the Champions League of the National Hunt world spread over four fantastic days.  I've been every year since 1981 apart from the abandoned foot and mouth epidemic year, and wouldn't miss it for the world.  

Any other racing fans on here who have been or are going?

The next round of the Europa League has been drawn and it's Liverpool v Dortmund. Who else saw that coming? The football gods love that sort of stuff. That may well be the end of the road for the reds.

On a side note, I have just booked a short break in Liverpool with the missus on the very day that BVB come to town. I'm not sure whether this is a good or a bad thing!

He says he is looking to make new additions this week, the same team that scored 3 or more goals at home on several occasions and he wants to bring in a new striker/creative player, is he bonkers? The problem isn't the players its the system.

There is a Japanese saying that basically says if a plant doesn't grow in a drought, is it the plant that's at fault? They say that you should change the environment that you place the plant instead of the plant being the problem, the only thing that has changed is the manager, the players are mostly the same, JF talked about creating a new environment, yet he's blaming the plant instead of the environment he has created

Bookies have now had us from 150/1 to now 5/1 in matter of time and have suspended bets on us.

People have also been betting on us going into admin an I think that's been suspended someone found a copy of a HMRC winding up order against us dated for April 2016

We seem to be in a real mess and worse the fans aren't being informed of what's really going on I find this heartbreaking not knowing what's happening to our club.

Its almost like it's been ripped apart day by day minute by minute and we are the ones suffering of we go into admin which people are saying is very likely as the bookies odds are getting shorter and shorter an they must have a know how somewhere

I went to Leiceter - Newcastle last night to cheer on Leicester. What most refereshing was that every Newcastle fan we spoke to wanted Leicester to win the league, but will they?

They have got some quality to be sure, but not a vast amount. They play a simple defend and break fast system which suits the players they've got. They play for each other and for the manager, a real team.

But I thought they looked tired (probably mentally more than physically), and Newcastle, who weren't as bad as their league position would suggest, could easily have got a point if their players had the confidence to shoot.

The question I'm left with is - How many points do the Foxes need to pick up from their last 8 games?

24 points - 20 wins the league mathematically, but that needs Spurs to win 8 in a row. I guess 16 - 5 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats will be enough.

Come on Leicester - shove it up the so-called and self-styled big 5, and there lapdogs in the media!!

I try to be objective but I am fuming that if rumours are correct, Stanley MUST stay. There is no vision or future with Jamie. The only vision is dire football and relegation

OK, Notts season is fizzling out into the equivalent of one of those "parties" that your mate invited you to when you were 15 years old......you were told to bring a 4-pack of Babycham and some Gold Label because half of Westwood Girls School was going to be there.......and these girls had a serious reputation........ruff ruff ruff!

You spend 2 hours gelling your hair, picking the sexiest tank-top and flared trouser combo you can find, and brush your teeth until the gums bleed.

You arrive with hormones running riot................only to discover half the rugby team and a dozen other panting, acne-covered males sipping Warninks Advocaat.......damn, life is cruel.

Welcome to a life of supporting Notts.....perpetual disappointment sprinkled with a touch of total desolation....suck it up Son, it's "character-building"......no it's not Dad, it's ****, and I hate you......why couldn't we live in Leicester?

Call me crazy or whatever you want I said it when we started slipping under moniz I said we would never make he play offs we would be relegated and we will be.

Winless in 6 now no goals at all a defence that is made up of pub players at best.

Holis is terrible Adams is not intrested Atkinson is far to young and inexperienced an it shows Curtis and milsom offer no goals between them far to defensive minded.

Adam Campbell is far to lightweight for this level the odd 3- goals here and there 

Banton has flashes but not much else Murray isn't the same Carroll has been terrible.

The strikers miss more then ever lately and Jamie Fullarton is the icing on the cake a moron yes I said it again cause it's true and I stand by it

We will get hammerd by exter hammerd by Pompey hammerd by Wycombe and mansfailed will be the nail in the coffin as they do us 4-0

The trews may have had the clubs intrest at heart and yes they spent money and yes we should be grateful for it but how much has gone to payin off managers on 4 year deals that have never ever managed.

Also I hate to say it this could be the second club they have took out the football league the oldest club which is rich in history.

If I was them I'd sack this moron again repeat moron and save the history by getting anyone who has a brain about football and can pick us up at least2-3 wins.

Cause as it stands Fullarton win rate is now worse then kiwoyma who was a U21 coach and if we don't score this Saturday he matches Paul inches record of so many games without a goal and I reckon hel beat that.

He is by far the worse manager we have had his stats prove that so no one can call me crazy or have ago it's a damn fact.

So again il say it we will be relegated until he is removed make of it what you will
