Regan Booty

I felt some doubt behind his signing, I think it's only natural after Notts has this habit of panic buying. However, yesterday was the first game I've seen him play for us and on the back of things I've heard or been told at Harrogate, for a player who'sΒ only 21-years-old, he reminded me a lot of what qualities Alan Judge brought to the club all those years ago when we played in League One.

I'm not suggesting that they're the same, both are different players in their own right, but you could see Booty was keen to stamp his ability on the game and came close to scoring with some long distance efforts.

His footwork, ability and drive to get forward was very pleasing to see.

In the second half, he even had two spells where he took on 4-5 players and totally out-skilled them in order to create a good chance. I actuallyΒ compared him to Donga He. ????????

If he continues, I firmly believe he will become a fan favourite and a player unlike Michael Doyle that we can actually build a team around.

What do you think? Are you impressed with him?

very exciting prospect i feel, he looked keen to get the ball and i felt he used what time he had on it well.

think with time and confidence he will settle in well, but what a difference he is compared to will patching who seemed more comfortable just to be on the pitch rather than influencing the proceedings. very happy by his performances so far!

If he continues just to enjoy his football, he could play a big part in our season.

He seems to have all the right tools, nobody can blame him for the odd mistake because they play as a team. I hope he establishes himself as a starting regular and not one of these good players Ardley chooses to forget.

Looks a cracking player, if we can develop him right he could be worth something in a few years or a great player to have if/when we return to the Football League.

He works his socks off.

I was a bit nervous that he would prove to be a panic signing, so it's great to read all the positive comments! Let's hope he keeps up his good start and is successful at Notts.

Another positive aspect is that we've got some competition for places in midfield now. That's something we were sorely missing last season despite our bloated squad.

I am impressed by how well he speaks, he seems switched on and focused. Yet the minority of such a player is a promising sign, as I feel it helps his ability to remained grounded by each performance he gives the club.

Quality player and he will only get better, he reminds me of a better Jorge Grant.

Others might see it if he manages to start scoring.

There was an element of worry that it was a panic buy, but with Will Patching being released it opened the door for Regan Booty.

I think it's a solid addition to the team, he looks quality and someone who can impact games.

Solid addition to the squad, when you sign a younger player that looks good enough to start as a first team member you know they're quality. He will only get better.

It's good to see such a young player who could have played higher in my opinion, fall to the Non League and appear to be self driven to perform well enough to get himself or Notts out of it.

I am pleased with Regan Booty and I hope he can keep his positive start up during the course of the season. He seems better than Jorge Grant in terms of his actual contributions.
