Training facilities sorted for the remainder of the season

It's good, I praise Forest to agreeing terms and for working with us.

Why can't two local teams use the same facilities? As a short term answer until we can afford our own, I think this is the best outcome. I don't actually see Forest as rivals now, yes, we can share banter, but I respect their genuine fans and the club for their support.

Next time I'm in Beeston, I won't take a picture of the "Red Dog Travel" shop. 🤣

I would have tried to discuss further terms with Nottingham Uni but this deal is good.

The facilities are very good, near to the club so it works. Nottingham Forest didn't have to do this, so it could help to work with them again in the future with trusting Notts to give their youngsters game time.

I think this is a good move by both clubs, it will save wasting petrol and other costs which over the season will add up. I was told by a friend who is a youth team member that them taking equipment was an hassle since it used to be left at Basford, then they had to take it each time the team trained.

It makes sense to be closer but i cant imagine their fans will ever let it go that we use their ground for training.

I am pleased to see an agreement reached for the duration of the season.

its a good idea to use the facilities, i hope notts can eventually go back to basfords.

I dont think we will go back to basford as we didnt really leave on good times.

This was with the former owner, Chris Munroe the Basford chairman has connections with the club and Notts County Football in the Community.

The facilities are very good too, if the new owners can they should try to strike up terms again.

They could always try to, yes it was with previous owners so you never know.

It's a good facility to have for now and I am grateful to Forest for lending it us. However, in the next year we need to make some progression towards our own training base

I agree, if Notts aims to improve we cannot rely on others to dictate when the club can train. It's best to find our own training ground.

Meanwhile using Forest's for as long as they will allow is good enough.

It's only a good thing that the club has somewhere to operate for the rest of the season, training is important.

Posted

That’s one thing the new owners have sorted out and the fact it’s with forest is good .. it’s repaired the burnt Bridges and the facility’s look good as well

Posted

The club doesn't need its own facilities until it's at least in League One which is some way off. Sharing makes sense.

The clubs simply not big enough to demand its own or afford to run them, it would cause more hassle than it would solve.

Posted

It's good that the club has this sorted, now the facilities are there hopefully the performances will

Posted

At least some more long term training facilities even if its across the river.

Posted

At least this is out of the way and should go along way to sorting out the lead up to games, being settled is as important as preparing to going into games with a proper plan.

Posted

I think having this sorted will help the club more, having a secure place to train will allow the club, manager and players to focus on the upcoming games. It goes along way I think.

Posted

Agreed, being settled in training can and will show on the pitch. The rough patch might have had something to do with the training, does anyone know if the Uni agreement was coming to an end during this period? @ARLukomski

Posted

It's a good decision to share, safe money and build bridges. You never know, Notts might be able to unearth some potential future signings or loan agreements from this.

Both Nottingham clubs working with each other, it's good to see! It's only a training ground after all.

Thought the trent uni one would be for longer but i guess with the campus being in full use again it wont always be available.
