Strange one really. We have Bird? Would be frustrating to see another teams' unproven youngster played over our own youngster who has proven he can at least hold his own in this league.

Bird is cup-tied for our FA Trophy game against Aveley. Lacey has a slight injury, Turner is out for a while and McCrory still has 2 weeks. We needed cover

And can we stop with the Alan Sheehan stuff. Be realistic

Owen Betts isn't ready either.

Cover was needed

I don't want to knock the signing, but the club has done well to avoid pointless signings and these young players come across as people who wont feature much, if at all. It sounds like the wage budget has been spent.

It's not a complaint but if it's true, Ardley should make do what he has at his disposal.

It’s good that there’s cover, but are these youngsters actually going to play at all?

Yeah, that's my point. I wouldn't want someone here for a month to be playing over Bird, which means barring another injury to Rawlinson and/or Bird, they will sit on the bench for a month, with maybe starting a tin pot FA trophy game?

Hardly seems worth it on their front.

All for giving him a chance and I hope he does well, but I see his chances being limited.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

I suppose Neal Ardley might be running out of options or attempting to add some young blood to the squad to balance things out better.

I've actually heard of him, he's quite good and considered a bright prospect.

However, he doesn't have a lot of experience and even in the English leagues he lacks it. I don't think he's actually played a competitive league game for Wigan, but when he was playing in the Island of Man he was being chased by Reading and some other Championship teams which would say he's got something about him.

At this level, it's a good place to learn due to how physical the league can be.

A field where dreams become reality.

Give him chance, he may do better if everyone else isn't a sitting duck or underperforming.

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.

Incredibly frustrating that he started over Bird.

What message does that send to Bird? What does it send to our other youngsters?

'I will literally bring in another teams 18 year old, with no first team experience, who I haven't seen play, and start him over you'. That's the message.

In the after match presser Ardley basically said Bird wasn't committed during the week and didn't train anywhere hard enough. We don't see that side of it. We see the end result, but surely the build up is important as well?

In saying all that, the reports on the new lad weren't exactly glowing, so again this is where experience comes in. We need to sort out all these injuries rapido!

We can only hope he improves, his touch and passing seemed fine. Defensively he seemed awkward but he couldn't do much worse than what he did against Hartlepool at the weekend. It might just take time to settle, being a month long it makes you wonder if it's worth it?
