This person is not a fan; he cost the club a fine of around £10,000. How can someone who is 28 years old and claims to be a fan of a football club resort to such stupidity for a bet? Did his partner nag him about the amount of money he was spending on tickets and alcohol, so he took a bet to invade the pitch? I cannot make sense of it. I think these types of people are idiots and not true fans of football. Why would anyone want to be banned from watching their club for something so pointless?

A bet to run onto the pitch? Idiot is a good word to sum them up. It most certainly isn’t “supporter” or “fan”. I think the club should extend their own ban to the people involved in encouraging it too. These types of people ruin football.

Anyone encroaching on the playing field , throwing objects on the pitch or causing disruption inside or outside a stadium should receive the severest penalty possible. They are not fans and have nothing to do with football.They  just spoil the enjoyment of the vast majority of normal supporters

The club should distance themselves from fans who are this childish. If they would run on a pitch for a bet, where would you draw the line? I think along with the banning order, he should be made to pay a fine. It is not fair that Notts has to bear all the financial burden.

He’s got his ban; I doubt he’s a real Notts fan. Why would you do it? He’s probably a popup/armchair fan anyway, which would explain why he wouldn’t be bothered about being banned.

If he was 18 or younger, I think most would bypass it as being foolish, but even I am more mature than to take a bet that would result in me being banned. As others have said, he’s no fan.

A grown adult? I really hope he doesn’t have any children because it’s a pretty stupid and childish thing to do. Unless he’s lying that it was done for a bet.

The fan's behaviour is foolish and his ban is a just consequence. However, if he returns and causes any further disruption, it would be unwise. Why spoil the season after it has ended? Hopefully, he did not attend Wembley.

Does anyone know the bet amount? I’ll multiply it by 5, throw in crates of beer and offer these to him if he stays clear of the club altogether.

There was a teen that did this also; his mates filmed it and were hanging near the reception after the game acting like it was the biggest thing. Staff members also have to stay behind to write reports, so yes, there's £10,000 fine, but it costs the club in many other ways.

During a game, there's zero need to enter the pitch side or attempt to run on to the pitch itself.

I made a comment about locking the lad up and, this fan said to me, "he's just a kid, what will that teach him?" Perhaps harsh words, but that was more due to the fact he looked like he was going to attempt to fight a friend of mine. A ban for a season or a few, isn't going to stop them. It's childish and all about bragging rights for attention. It's supposed to be cool and trending, they look like muppets.

idiot, i think the ban should be extended just due to the stupidity of his reason. its not, i am sorry, a rush of blood came to my head. i hold my hand up, i am sorry and i should not have done it. its i was bet to do, you have to take on bets between friends. i am no chicken but i am a fool.

I wonder if a bit of Dutch coverage played a part of it, otherwise the bet must have been for serious money.

I think the ban is right and fair, the club needs to do better to stop people entering the pitch.

I agree with everyone else, it’s just a case of idiocy. Is a ban worth it? Do silly people think it’s a badge of pride? They are only hurting the club and themselves by behaving like that. They should be ashamed of themselves and apologise.

Silly person, at least he got a ban but I do think it should include football in general. That would make some of the people think, no Sky Sports ???? How can anyone be so stupid and selfish to risk their health and others’ for a stupid prank? He deserves everything he gets.

Fans who try to disrupt games or run on while the game is going on are just awful. No other words could describe it.

The fan is a complete tool. He needs to stay clear of Meadow Lane and his mates. Why do something mindless that will see the club fined? I would ask if it was worth it, but I think he may feel all-powerful for being escorted away by the police. It’s probably the first thing he mentions when you meet him.

I bet he’ll still manage to get into games. Security at football matches isn’t that good. He’ll probably end up in the Pavis or Family Stand like others who have done it before. The guy sounds like a jerk though.

It seems nonsensical to me to do something for a bet at the age of 28. It sounds like a foolish excuse. I’m glad he received the ban he deserved.

I can’t stand these types of fans. It’s annoying to see people act so selfish and childish. The fan deserved it for sure. Well done to the Nottingham Police.

If someone is banned for betting, then it’s for a good reason. It’s not a very smart decision to make.

Yes, it’s a good thing that he ended up being caught and banned. Sometimes they manage to burst back into the stands and hide amongst their friends, which makes it hard. Usually, most do get caught.

I didn’t even go on the pitch when we won the semi final playoff, the public address system was asking people to stay off the pitch because the  team needed to train on it for the final but still hundreds poured onto the pitch. 

If he does it again, or anyone who has been banned, they need a lifetime restriction from live football games. If it’s true about banned fans managing to get into other stands, then I repeat my thoughts about lifetime bans, but it should be made more difficult to get away with.
