UK Heatwave

Recommended Posts

So, the UK media keep banging on about the heatwave and how the weather isn't helping. Yet from what I have seen people seem to be enjoying themselves, yes there's been a few moans about the warmth (which is to be expected).

I'm curious what PON members think and how folks are coping here?

Have you enjoyed watching the friendlies in this lovely weather? or, would you prefer it to be cooler?

Lovely weather to do some gardening and then relax in the afternoon in the garden.

I don't mind the warmth like this because the breeze cools you down.

i like the warm weather, i wished i could go out because walks can be great in conditions like this. you have to adapt and take precautions but if you drink a little more than normal and look to cool yourself down its lovely.

i enjoyed the day at basford because it was perfect weather wise.

Fantastic weather im loving it .... but sweating like there is no tomorrow is not no fun.

I will put up with it though 😛 like being in Spain for half the price.

The weather makes me feel good it puts me in a good mood reminds me of being a kid playing football bike rides.

Enjoying the weather I said, loving time in the garden I did... Watch what my little rascals got up to a short time ago.

Lovely weather and hope it keeps up. Brilliant for kids and families that might find it hard to afford to go abroad. Plenty of things around the area to do in the sun.

It's nice out, as @liampie says you need to take some level of precaution but there are no complaints from me. Yes, it gets a bit too hot at time but find  a way to cool down.

It's looks like @Chris found his way of cooling himself down. 😂🤣

It's brilliant, people moan about the cold and they moan about the warm weather. When will people realise they just like to moan?

The only thing I will add is that sooner or later there will need to be some rain before it does effect the UK's farms and food producers, this could be the only negative thing. I'm sure it will rain soon.

The weather is great if you haven’t got to work and are sitting near a pool. Thankfully I don’t work anymore but I haven’t got a pool to cool off in, can I borrow your kids to give me a good soaking @Chris?

On a serious note it’s not good for some folk who suffer from breathing difficulties and some elderly people but the rest of us can enjoy it while we can.

Loving every minute of it.  It amuses me how we get a weather warning when it gets to 30 degrees and warned to stay out of the sun!  Many places abroad are a fair bit warmer and they cope easily.  My lawn is more yellow than green, but the vegetables are growing well as long as they are kept watered.

By all means good Sir, you can have them for a week? maybe two? No, wait... How does a month sound? 😋

It's been warm in the States, but the weather has been a bit unpredictable. It depends on the state.

The UK doesn't know what a heatwave is. 😄

It's more the humidity levels that makes it unbearable.

Today feels very hot and there's hardly any breeze to cool down from. I have enjoy the sunshine at Meadow Lane though.

I don't mind the warm weather, it does not bother me and makes a nice change to see a football game with a summers day feel to it.

It makes a change not to have to wear my rain coat and instead have a t-shirt and shorts on.

I'm enjoying the warm weather.

No complaints, it's nice to have some warmth for once. It makes a big difference.

I'm loving it TBH.

My bedroom window hasn't shut for several weeks but it's really nice out. Going to Meadow Lane knowing you won't get wet or cold makes the match day more fun. Those complaining will be happy when it's over for a short time and then revert to "It's cold" etc.

i think most of the people who moan vocally just cant be bothered, a lot of people who do seem generally lazy and not very active. i know i should not stereotype people but some get on my nerves.

It's only unbearable during working hours, once that's over it's really nice. I have been going for drives in the evening and eating out a little more than I normally would. I have to admit I enjoyed the past two home friendlies, the warmth does make it more enjoyable when watching football.

@super_ram took me to the doctors for a blood test this morning and it was very nice ,not too hot and a pleasant breeze but in the surgery it was very humid even with fans on.I prefer  it like today rather than pouring with rain, windy and freezing cold!

As @GrannyPie has pointed out, outside its lovely but inside you can feel like a stick insect if the rooms are not cooled down.

I have been guilty of enjoying the warm weather a little too much, as I had completely forgotten about other things and have taken to going out more. I think when the weathers like this you naturally make the most of the time.

In a few weeks it will be all rain, so enjoy it while it lasts.

Isn't it typical that the weather breaks just as soon as the school summer holiday begins.I think the forecast is for a return to nice weather early next week.
