Who is your favourite player from the last 5 years?

I was having a think last night, we have used a lot of players over the last 5 years, we've had players we've loved and forgot about (Stanley Aborah who?), players we loved and now dislike, (Liam Noble) and many, many players who have come and gone in between. We have had good loan players like Jorge Grant, Mackail-Smith to name a few. So my question to you fellow PON users is, who is your favourite player from the last 5 years? And to make things interesting, 1 permanent and 1 loan signing.

So scratch your brains, have a think and let me know!

Permanent: Jon Stead (Only player to give a flying **** at times during his stay)

Loan: Louis Laing (First stint in League 1)

Shola Ameobi is my fav.

He was class and a friendly person, always clapped off the fans after games regardless.

Last 5 seasons? Jorge Grant gave me some good memories.

That type of goal scoring threat needs to be found again by Notts.

There's some good answers in here! Shola and Stead are two that stood out for me! Matt Tootle is another. In terms of loan signings Jorge Grant, Marc Bola, Louis Laing(as mentioned by @Fozzy, completely forgot how good him and McLaughlin was) but my favourite loan signing would have to be Jorge Grant followed closely by Ryan Yates! As for the permanent player ooo I feel it's got to be Jon Stead due to playing for the shirt, would've been Shola had he been here as long as Stead was.

I think Michael Petrasso was in the last 5 seasons, he lit Notts up when in form.

Craig Mackail-Smith he did his utmost to keep Notts up, I have to respect that.

It took him some time to settle but I always felt if Notts could have retained him for longer things may have ended differently.

Loan, Ryan Yates. unfortunately his recall not only cost us promotion, it also cost us further decent loanees from florest because of the previous owner’s lack of tact.

Permanent, Tootle. Heat & soul Notts player and a good human being.

Ryan Yates is a good call, I don't believe losing him solely cost the club promotion mind.

jorge grant his goals and assists lit up notts, great player when in the zone.

Loan: Craig Mackail-Smith

I wasn't the biggest fan of his when he arrived, I think in hindsight, I should have been fairer to his character rather than judging him solely based on what I had seen. I felt he was a good player, just his age and habits of floating around teams. He worked hard, this earned my respect, but having spoken to him off the field - he totally changed my opinion. Some say he was passed it for us, I disagree - I think we'd have been down sooner without him.

I think Gary Liddle would count as a player in the last 5 years, we had him in 2014.

Massive player for Notts, such a good talent that should have done better after leaving us.

Craig Mackail-Smith and Matt Tootle for me.

Failure to adequately replace him and use Forte effectively was big factors that cost us that season but that's another debate for another time!

The good ones tend to be remembered and the really bad ones too, average ones tend to get forgotten about.

Balint Bajner, of course.
