I've always had a soft spot for Notts. Maybe it's because you resist the allure of past glories across the Trent. Maybe it's because of the numerous Blades/Notts connections (our current manager for one).

Either way, I've kept an eye on you for years now and was gutted by your relegation. Here's hoping you do a Luton or Lincoln. ????

Always remember a FA Youth Cup game at Crystal Palace where McGoldrick and Best were playing for Notts, only to be outshown by Wayne Routledge

Question for you, Sheffield Utd released which midfielder trialist (never played a first team game for the Blades) who was signed by Sam Allardyce for Notts

Stumped over that one! I know Big Sam loaned Paul Devlin for a bit, but he'd already made several first team appearanes for the Blades by then.

Found out Enda Stevens played two games for you on loan from Villa a couple of years back, that's probably up there with John Egan's one-match loan spell for us long before he became a Blades legend in terms of obscurity.

@MC Gold Rick Thanks! In terms of players and managers, we must have more connections with the Blades than with any other club, our nearest neighbours excepted. Not least your current manager! Hope you keep mixing it up in the Premier League.

Oh, and thanks for joining and getting involved too! :)

@Piethagoram that's a whole new level of obscure. Andy Hughes?

Rob Ullathorne, Chris Wilder. Kevin McDonald ( despite loaned from Burnley, he was totally useless at Notts)

@DangerousSausage clue...a French midfielder:frantics:

We have had some interesting encounters over the years, when in League One I never missed going to your ground even though I expected Notts to get stuffed. It's good to see you doing well, with a young squad in the Premier League.

If you hang onto your players, and avoid doing what Southampton did. You will continue to do well IMO.

PS. Neil Warnock brought both of our clubs many happy times.

Paul Devlin, Daniel Bogdanović, Ben Davies, Willie Carlin,  Shaun Derry, Jonathan Forte, Jon Harley and Jon Stead to name a few big names.

@MC Gold Rick: A few years ago back when we was in League One, fans I travelled with spoke about Sheffield United fans being rough. After the game, my son (about 6 I recall) and I got separated by the police from our fans.

We didn't wear our colours, so, I guess the police thought we were United fans.

I had never been to the city before, it was dark and I felt lost. A group of blade fans around, 8 - asked me if I was okay. Mixed ages, looked like casuals and I felt a bit taken back. Yet they all walked with my son and I until we managed to find our friends. A gesture that I won't forget, as we all have idiot fans in our supporters base - yet things like this remind us that we are just football fans at the end of the day.

Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Welcome to PON @MC Gold Rick, we are a good group of lads.

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.
