An article has stated that Jim O'Brien started training again on monday with protection on his arm and a large scar on his leg. Ardley has said that hes back training but isnt going to rush him even though he wants him back in the squad.

Whats your thoughts on this?

I thought he would be out for longer, he seems to be a strong and quick minded player who wants to just play football.

It's great to have him back training, I would try to keep him match sharp for the big run of important fixtures - without rushing a return. A third injury, related to previous ones or not would be a bigger setback.

He's shown a level of class and professionalism, something I admire.

It will be nice to see I'm returning to the field of play, we as fans need to be vocal in support towards O'Brien. He's one of ours, a true leader.

His return last time was great to see, end up being frustrating to see him pick up another injury but it's great to read that he's returned to training. I know there was a clip of him running on a treadmill but I didn't think he would be this close to making a return.

There might be some time away expected, but it's great for the squad to know he's training.

When he comes back, I believe he will slot straight back in.

Big news, he's the type of player who will improve those around him.

I hope he's excited and, eager to kick on. The club needs more with O'Brien's attitude.

Great news! It's good to know he's training again. I thought he would miss the rest of this season which would have been tragic I feel for both him and Notts.

It is good news to see Jim O'Brien return to training, on par with signing Kyle Wootton.

Take his time, come back with the right frame of mind and help us seal promotion Jim.

This is very goo news, I wasn't expecting to read this and Jim's return would be a big boost with the confidence so high in the camp.

Jim O'Brien is certainly a tough character, he knows his own mind and body. That will power can make a big difference, so it's great to see him training again.

I am sure Jim will make a difference once he is fit enough to play, he's been unlucky this season but still remains an important player.

its good to see, i think he will come back stronger but i would save him once he is okayed to play for the final run.

This type of news will give the team a boost just to see Jim training, when he returns it should only be bigger.

Once he returns, it will be a blessing for Neal Ardley. Injecting more leadership and fight will only be good.

Jim would have made a difference in the game today, his return will be such an important part in what happens this season.

He's just the type of player Notts are missing, I would switch him out for Rose in a heart beat. The team needs more drive.

Once back in the squad, someone in the middle might actually try to get the play moving forward.

Posted

It will be good to have him back for selection when he does return, I wouldn’t rush him in but I too favour Jim over Mitch.

Posted

I hoped last time that Jim would be the boost that the team needed, this time I would rather slowly bring him back into regularly starting.

We spoke to him after the Dover game, he was very upbeat and friendly @menzinho.

He mentioned then to @Magic magpie that he would be back by the weekend, I asked him how he managed to walk off - he replied "It was only a we cut wasn't". I replied, well we thought it was serious, we're please that you're back. He added that he "couldn't wait to get going".

It's great to see him back, such a positive person to have in the squad.
