Any news on Slocombe?

Notts needs this man back ASAP, he’s a quality keeper and McDonnell looks like a player happy sit in when needed.

He doesn’t look very good to tell the truth.

I’d feel confident if Slocombe returned.

4-6 weeks potentially.

I think most will be eager to see him return but we need to avoid rushing it, he's been injured twice now so far this season.

A field where dreams become reality.

It seems like for ages since he's been in goal for Notts, Jim O'Brien returned much quicker it feels. Two different injuries I know, but it's weird how it feels.

I don't all the dislike/hate towards Joe McDonnell, he's a newly signed keeper. Some of his performance could be put down to settling in, once he has a proper understanding of the players in front of him he may improve. The goal he blundered, it could happen to anyone at this level.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

I would question the sanity of any fan who didn't want Sam Slocombe back, but I do those who go on about Joe McDonnell not being world class. At this level two keepers of the same quality would be a luxary.

Most League One teams have a bog standard backup.

"Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value."

This is from the pre-match Fylde press conference, also has info on everyone else currently out injured.

"Sam was going along nicely but he just started getting a little bit of soreness back in there, so we’ve taken a step back.

"But everything’s telling us we’re on the right track with him. The kicking’s going to be the key thing – he can do most things now but, with him being a goalkeeper, it’s vital he can strike balls.

"We could get him to a certain point and then the last bit might become more difficult."

Sounds like a he's still a couple of weeks away from being 100%...

Sam would be a good player see back in the starting 11, the club released an update earlier but it's not as useful as you would think.

When did they start providing injury updates?

Joe McDonnell sounded quite poor on the radio coverage, his kicking and decision making seemed to never questioned a lot. Hopefully, Sam Slocombe can make a full return soon.

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.

I hope we hear some more news on the radio tonight, someone told me at Barrow that Slocombe has been training more. I don't usually buy rumours but it sounds like he's getting close, he will be a huge return.
