Macaulay Langstaff looks very dashing in his evening wear; you could hardly tell he is a footballer. Soon he will be dining and spending time with high executives when clubs come knocking down Meadow Lane’s door.

Macaulay Langstaff looks great in a suit; it really does look good on him. His smile is that of delight and “what am I doing here?” I bet he had to pinch himself, but at least he didn’t have to head out before midnight like Cinderella did!

Best dressed of the Night: Macaulay Langstaff! I bet he could win any award he put his mind to. He looks very gentleman-like in his shiny black suit.

David McGoldrick seems to have won everyone over. I am pleased he’s back and appreciate what he’s said since his return. He sounds very focused, considering Derby still wanted him. This suggests it should work out for us, but nobody knows when a player’s legs will go. I believe he will be fit enough.

    3. Nocturnal-Magpie

      Nocturnal-Magpie

I am pleased David McGoldrick has had the chance to return to Meadow Lane, where he wants to retire. I like these kinds of stories. I am not sure what to make of the stories about him attending games or bumping into Charlie Slater. I think some of this is good PR work but it’s no doubt a coup for us.

    4. AmericanPie

feel we are lucky that David McGoldrick wanted to come back. I think he will have wanted to do this for a while, but it will be good to see how he does over the course of the season. If Notts only gets one year out of him, it’s one year he may have spent with Derby scoring bags of goals. Isn’t it better that he does this for us?

  2. I was wondering if any of you have considered using a signature to express your thoughts or favourite quotes. A signature can be a great way to share something that is meaningful to you with others. It can also be a way to add a personal touch to your posts and make them more unique.

Have any of you tried this before? If so, what kind of quotes or thoughts do you like to include in your signature? I would love to hear your thoughts on this topic.

I prefer easy-to-listen-to music. I think the 80s had some great songs and, while I could get through a playlist with songs from that period, I find myself more of a fan of the 70s, with the rock and roll styles being a bit easier to enjoy. I do not like much modern music. @super_ram, I remember my mum watching Sharpe on ITV when I was a little child. The song reminds me of those days.

If I were to name a few preferred artists, I would say Frank Turner, Elton John, The Hollies, Fifth Avenue, Jason Mraz, Coldplay and Michael Bublé.

OK  @CliftonMagpie I get it that you are a lot younger than me,mind you I didn't realise till I checked that Sharpe was first broadcast 30 years ago. Also seeing as you like The Hollies too ,I'll say no more.lol

I have a wide variety of taste in music. Although, I don't particularly like today's music. There seems to be a lack of originality and feel good factor like they used to be.

Clubland, Rock or Pop Punk are my top 3 genres.

I can just about listen to anything tbf. Mostly due to growing up I was introduced to multiple different types of music.

Limp Bizkit and Oasis are up there as my favourites to listen to.

I am a Clash fan; that is my favourite band to listen to. I grew up listening to them; all of my friends liked them and for the time they were the coolest act to follow. I do like Queen also. I think Freddie Mercury had one of the best voices in music, closely followed by Morrissey.

Good luck to Enda Stevens in finding a new club. I wonder if Luton Town might be interested? He has Premier League experience and they could do with a few experienced faces.

    4. upthepies

      upthepies

Enda Stevens did okay for Notts, considering he was thrown into the team and how the club was performing; it was always going to be a battle for the lad. I thought he had been doing well for Sheffield United. Now that David McGoldrick is here, I don’t think we can rule out that Notts may express interest.

Charlie sure knows how to tell them. I agree with others who say it reflects well on McGoldrick. It would be hard for a footballer to attend many games while actively playing, yet it’s still good to think he came to show his support.

    4. CliftonMagpie

      CliftonMagpie

I wanted Charlie to say halfway into the story that his kid woke up and that he would have to continue it later. Save me the job. 😂 It does come across well for David, though I have my doubts about the story itself.

  4. Rejected by Villa and Cardiff City at youth level, he has made such progress. Given his chance at Hereford by ex Notts man Peter Beadle. Guy Branston would have been probably scouting for Notts at that time.... another good player missed

    3. AmericanPie

      AmericanPie

I would imagine the list of missed players is never-ending, but at least with the recruitment Notts has now, good players are being spotted, signed and improved. Notts just needs to start getting fees for the players instead of allowing deals to expire.

    4. MagpieLane

      MagpieLane

He’s not a name I am all that familiar with, but I think a player like him wouldn’t slip through our current recruitment system and if he did, well I think there would be realistic reasoning behind that.

The reunion of Kristian Dennis and Kane Hemmings will be interesting to watch. However, it wasn’t the attack that caused the club’s relegation; it was the midfield, defence and goalkeeper.

    3. RetroPie

      RetroPie

Tranmere Rovers have lost quite a few of their best players. Salford and the likes have taken the opportunity to buy some of them. Kristian Dennis is an excellent bit of business for them, as he and Kane Hemmings have goals in them. Tom Davies, I feel, is one of the best defenders in our league.

    4. Wilfordpie

      Wilfordpie

Kristian Dennis was always a good striker - very much a player who could find space and tuck shots away. He worked hard too and always tried to make himself known. Good signing for Tranmere.

Sooner or later one of these rumours will turn out to be true, I think this one might have some substance to it. The club may have been tracking this player for a while. I think we have a good chance of signing almost any player we want now, mostly because of the positive atmosphere and momentum we have created at the club and the fact that players can see we are building something special here.

I think this summer it turned out to be David McGoldrick, but you know what they say: there’s no smoke without fire. I’m looking forward to seeing some new faces come through the doors at Meadow Lane.

It’s a good line-up of exhibition games before the season starts. Pre-season is useful for various reasons; a manager can tinker with his starting 11, see which players work well together and see if any of the youngsters can step up without the worry of losing a competitive game.

I didn't rate him either, but sometimes we have to take into consideration how good Notts were when we played them. I think he should do alright with them, I can easily see him adapting and possibly making a move overseas in the future. Polish players tend to be snapped up as affordable buys by teams in europe.

Good blog. I do agree that it seems to be trying to focus too much on liked players and in this case, the writer should have made it clear. This would give them credibility instead of trying to seem like they recommend the players off their own back. If they wrote about players linked, it would have been just as good. It’s well-written though.

I am delighted and thrilled for Tiernan Brooks; considering his young age, he must be eager to participate in matches, especially since internationals are a unique opportunity that not all young goalkeepers encounter. What are your thoughts on Tiernan, @Dripsey3?

  13. When me and Mrs. Fan of Big Tone go out we often like to pop into a coffee shop for our favourite drink cappuccino, we original used to prefer to find a local independent business to support but found some good but some very poor, we never knew which it would be. One day we tried a Costa Coffee and it was really good and every time we visit one it’s the same standard so they are now our favourite place to go for coffee, we felt a bit guilty supporting big mega businesses rather than local ones but then Costa provide jobs for locals don’t they?

Speaking of UK coffee places, they vary in quality and taste. My favourite is Costa Coffee and their Caramel Latte is delicious. There are many other coffee places in the UK that offer great drinks and atmosphere. Some popular chains include Starbucks, Caffè Nero, and Pret A Manger. Each has its own unique style and menu offerings. In addition to the chains, there are also many independent coffee shops that offer a more local and unique experience. Whether you prefer a classic espresso or a flavoured latte, there’s something for everyone in the UK’s coffee scene.

Ricardo Moniz will lead Slavena in the preparations on Thursday, June 15, and for the club's website he shared his first impressions after signing the contract with Slaven Belup.

      - It is a great honor for me to come to Slaven Belupo, Koprivnica and Croatian football. I know a lot about the club, and the two friendly matches we played last season, one in Koprivnica and the other in Zalagereszeg, especially helped me. I know that it is a great club with ambitious people who lead it and very good players that I saw in the mentioned matches. So far in my career, I have coached players like Olić, Petrić, Tomasov and Mance, so I know what the Croatian mentality means and what the Croats' view of football is. There is always great emotion and a desire for progress, which impresses, and I believe that the same awaits me in Slaven Belup.

He explained what Slaven can do next season in the following way.

      - I am aware that I am coming to a club that is not a favorite for the top positions, but that is what should inspire and motivate us. We must have great ambition and take steps forward through work at a high level. Regardless of the fact that we may be outsiders at the start, we want to lurk for an opportunity from the shadows, and that will come through a high intensity of work at every training session. I like to compete against nominally better and bigger clubs, against clubs that have more money and better conditions, because everything is possible in football.

He was attracted to Slaven Belupo by the club's desire for progress in all segments.

      - When we talked about my arrival in Slaven Belupo, I felt a great love for football from the people of the club and that I get a lot of energy through talking with them. I can't wait to start work, but I must point out that we have a lot of work ahead of us. There is no magic wand, and our only goal must be progress step by step. We must together create one philosophy in the club that we will all follow, both the first team and the football school. I don't want to impose anything on anyone, my task is to convince everyone of this philosophy because I am a team player.

The message to the fans of our club is simple.

      - Football is played for the fans, and we will do everything to be better for them. We can raise our game, our philosophy, our training by a few percent, and we will do that only if we live it. We have a great responsibility for the fans and we have to respect them, but also be brave. I am looking forward to my stay in Koprivnica and believe in joint success.

Coach, once again, welcome and good luck!
