Will Notts be able to sign Kyle Wootton permanently?

There's talk that the club is trying, I don't believe in rumours without a credible source but this does need to be looked into.

It would be crazy to leave it off.

It might be worthwhile to see if they would interested in someone from us, as this could ease the load. It really depends on the budget, what money we have and how signing Kyle Wootton would benefit the club in the long term.

No doubt I would love for him to join us on a permanent basis.

He's loving being around the club, you can see this in his football.

They could, the answer is will they.

Kyle Wootton needs to be more than a target or loan signing, getting him permanently would be an excellent bit of business.

Personally I doubt we can as there are a number of factors beyond our control, although we should definitely do our best to sign him.

According to Transfermarkt his contract doesn't expire until 2021, so any club that can offer a larger fee would logically be ahead of us in the queue. But how many clubs at National League / League Two level can afford to pay big transfer fees?

Secondly, he might not want to sign for a club in the National League, which is understandable. And thirdly, Scunny might not want to let him go. If we loaned a striker to a team in the division below and he turned into a goal machine, we'd be clamouring for him to be recalled. Whether he has a realistic chance of getting back into their team depends on what's going on behind the scenes at Scunthorpe. I only hope he can see the season out with us at least.

If Notts can get him relatively cheap, it would make a good bit of business/

@Truefootballfan i agree, there are ways around getting a fairer price. issue would be if there are league clubs willing to take a gamble on him due to the amount of goals hes scored. his league record is not as impressive, so some might overlook him.

that would be a good thing for notts but i think if we can sign him permanently it address one of the biggest issues notts have had in recent years.

a lack of quality young striker.

I would like this to happen, I am not sure I see it happening because I would suspect that they might want him to return or for a better price to be agreed.

I don't see Notts competing with any league teams.

If he signs, half season tickets should be boosted.

It would be a positive signing for the club, and a good bit of business.

Good player, he's come into his element whilst on loan. The early signs he didn't look special but we all know what quality he brings to the team now, yes, I hope Notts can sign him.

Yes, if possible.

Get Kyle Wootton a 5 year deal. :D

If recalled, Kyle Wootton would be a massive loss to the side.

He's someone that the club can build around, with Regan Booty. It would give Notts some clear pathway to establishing a squad which can be developed other time, especially with Alex Lacey and Richard Brindley.

I don't see it happening, but we all would love to see Kyle Wootton sign permanently.

He would be the best signing of 2020, perhaps the only one.

If it doesn't happen this season, unless his contract ends up being ran out, I can't see him coming back. He looks likely to go onto greater things.

I really hope and pray Notts can sign Kyle. ????

I think he would progress further having played more at this level, he's learning more about playing with Notts right now. Permanently? It depends on the colour of the money.

Posted

Yes thats true

Posted

It also depends if his club will sell him.

It gives real hope, if Notts pull it off the club will have 3 very good strikers in their ranks.

I am a bit nervous about the over egging of the comments about "doing all we can" and "not down to a lack of effort."

It reads like a gentle way of lowering the expectation since the rumour emerged that a bid had been accepted. Hopefully, it's just Notts playing it down but it could indicate that their is stiff competition for the forward.

It sounds like it's just down to Kyle himself to make the decision now, my guess would be he's holding out to see if any L2 clubs come in for him...

If there were any scouts watching him against Bromley thinking about making a move for him we might have just got lucky, one very nice flick but he didn't get the better of the CB's like we know he can.

I really hope he signs, he's the striker we've needed for a couple of years. He's now one of the first names on the team sheet and would be a big loss if he goes elsewhere. He's still young, lot's he can improve on and even if we are paying a small fee for him I think there's a good chance in the future someone might just be paying us a lot more to take him...
