how long do you think notts will be able to keep him? hes clearly a different class and i think hes the type of player who would choose his own happiness over more money etc.

its early days but i hope notts can get at least three seasons out of him.

biggest issue is getting back into the fl, then fending off bigger clubs but if we can grow with him i think he will be loyal.

All depends on if he continues to deliver and if Notts progresses with him, I can see there being a point whereby he will have attracted higher up attention. Notts won't hang onto these plays unless we build around them.

Players seeing the quality and depth can help, I would say 2/3 seasons.

I would like to see him here in at least 2 more seasons time.

Its anyone guesses if we can keep him for the whole length of his contract, he may end up being sold quicker than we think if he continues to do well. He's clearly the best attacking player the club has at the moment.

2 or 3 seasons would be good. If or when an offer comes in, we must evaluate it properly and make sure it is the right deal for the club as well as Callum

Neal Ardley has described him as a bit special, that will be a challenge alone to not further broadcast his talent. I would like to see him remain here for 4 years.

Ideally 5 years, if Notts doesn't progress or show signs of moving forward it could be much less. I would be disappointed if we didn't at least make it beyond 3 seasons as that should show some progress.

I wouldn't worry about it at this stage, I think fans just have to sit back and go for the ride.

If he can get his first goal, he'll be well away.

I'm looking forward to seeing him work alongside Regan Booty, as these two should be able to light up this league.

I think with being in non league, we have less chance of keeping him

Roberts and Regan on the same pitch would be something to behold

Identifying players that are able to play and grow is something which would benefit the club, this is why Cal Roberts and Regan Booty are exciting prospects but they need to be playing regularly because that is how they will gain experience.

I forgot to add.....

I minimum of 3 seasons should be the target, with the mindset that some will need to be sold or replaced.

If he doesn’t see out his contract, I would be disappointed. He looks like a real talent, someone Notts can build a good squad around too.

Unless he's sold on for a good fee, Notts needs to retain him and ensure the club progresses with him. He's a quality player, we lost Alan Judge because he felt the club was going backwards and Notts never really convinced him otherwise.

Callum Roberts has the best part of his career ahead of him, he's steps above this division and just needs a goal or two to push on.

I'm hoping he'll be around for a long time.

If hes here in 5 seasons time, either notts has improved or hes not reached the peak of his football. i think he will be gone in 3 if he continues to improve.

Its abit hard to say really because we dont know where notts will be and thats a big part of this

Posted

It all depends on his happiness, how he progresses and what he achieves here.

I would like to see him reach at least 3 years, this will give Notts time to find other players around his age to build a long term squad.

Posted

Notts could be the team that brings him crashing down to earth, he looks a quality player but pinning all hopes on him will just see him targeted or marked out in games.

Posted

4 seasons max, no more.

He's a good player but I see a lot of expectations being pinned on him. That's not good, I am sure he doesn't think about it and tries to do his best. Having him as the direct outlet will only make it harder, he can get forward but I just can't see him being effective unless the middle opens up.

Posted

3 more seasons maybe, it's hard to say. He could light up the league or end up being one of those the club releases.

It's down to getting the most out of him while he is here.

Posted

The club needs to be looking at the long term with Cal Roberts, if they can help him to use his ability for the better here without adding the pressure. He should become a player Notts can mark up once sold on, until then he has all we need to strike fear into the mix.

Posted

It would be nice to see a player of his ability retire with us, however, its unlikely based on the fact he will out grow us at some point.

Even if he doesn't, a better club will come along and take him on.

Posted

The club needs to see out his contract with him, then hopefully a further two more years from a new deal.

This would show a lot of promising signs if it could happen.

Whatever will be, will be.

Let's just enjoy seeing him wearing the Notts shirt, as we did with Alan Judge, Matt Ritchie and Jack Grealish.
