Will Notts recoup Boldewijn’s fee?

I am not trying to put further blame on Enzio Boldewijn, I’m just curious as to what people think.

Has Enzio proved his transfer fee so far?

Do you think, Notts can recoup it if it doesn’t work out?

With all the rumours surrounding him in the summer, I thought he might have left but reading comments he appears to be an  enigma at this point in time.

When people ask what 'American Pie' is about, they're missing the point. The song isn't about the lines themselves - it's about what is between the lines. The song is about what isn't there.

No chance.

I think he's a good player on his day, far too inconsistent at Notts. I would be surprised if a club offered 100k for him, I think Notts just has to make the best of the situation and hope he's got some more magic moments in him.

Oh oh oh ohhhhh, everywhere where we go, watching super County putting on a show!

Good player on his day, but I just don't think he fancies it here. I think he would be definitely be on his way if it wasn't for his wages and I reckon if any club came in with an offer of around 80K, we would snap their hands off.

I wonder if he's struggling to settle in Nottingham.

He's a very friendly player, always smiling and, thinking about others.

As a footballer, he does frustrate me because he doesn't warrant to start at all in my opinion. I can accept that defending isn't his strong point, so just allow him to take and cover when he's close. I am sure Notts could afford to allow him this freedom, especially now that we have stronger defenders in the squad. Biggest issue, I don't see anyone wanting him unless he's leaves on a free.

I also think we'd win more games without him starting right now, he once used to carry us but now it's Notts carrying him.

It's not right when you have eager players who could do a lot better.

His fee will never be recovered, so unless Neal Ardley can lift him - it's money not well spent for me.

A field where dreams become reality.

if a club offered 20k i would snap their hand off.

i wished he could be more consistent, even if he just tried to take on his marker. when he came he always would, he looked exiting but now hes a ghost on the pitch. notts wont get a dime for him.

If he gets the goal to help send Notts back up, that will be his debt paid in full.

Issue with Enzio Boldewijn is that he's the type of player who needs to have expectations and, Neal Ardley seems to be very loose with what he demands from him. The second part is that due to a lack of cover, he can't be rested. I think he's just having a difficult time and I wish him well.

His fee won't be returned, but I feel he has a bigger contribution to make.

Out of interest, how long was his contract for? I seem to have it in the back of my head that he was given a three year deal?

Yes, a three year deal and one of the clubs highest earners allegedly.

I don’t think so, but he can be a useful player. I think Neal Ardley needs to put him on the bench and bring him on around the 65th minute.

Its a good way to get the best out of him until his form improves.

I think if we'd signed him on a free, most would say he'd been a decent signing, or undecided at least. The fact that we overpaid for him (thanks Hardy), continue to do so in the form of wages (thanks again Hardy) and he was over-hyped when signing (hat-trick Hardy), means that we expected a superstar but actually got an average winger who occasionally produces moments of magic.

Less expectations if he had signed for free, however, wasn't it Kevin Nolan who brought him to Meadow Lane? If so, he should have knew that £300,000 was silly money for the player.

The club won't see a decent return for his investment.

I barely see them making a fee at all on him. Our best hopes are using him as a bargaining tool for someone younger and, hope the club just looks at those goals videos the kids upload onto sites.

When Notts signed him I thought he looked a cracking player, he had done well against us for Crawley. I mean, he ripped us a part before the club was utter rubbish. Now, I don't think he should be starting.

Whatever quality he has, we are not seeing it and his performance levels aren't good enough.

He can't defend, he's struggling to attack.

His crosses are appealing. I would rather have Stuart Nelson back taking them for him.

I like Enzio, I don’t worry about the fee Notts paid. It’s not coming back, provided he can score, assist and, improve on his performances.

I’m more than happy.

He’s not the best player this season, by far, but he has that quality that is useful at times.

Crawley have been net benefactors from Notts... Enzio, Kewell, Milsom . I didnt expect Enzio to be with us but perhaps his salary package has put EFL clubs off...

We just need him to contribute more, as i have been disappointed with his recent performances

If I am perfectly honest, I have been disappointed for the most part of the season with Enzio Boldewijn.

I don't think the club will get their money back.

It's down to Neal Ardley to get the best out of him, if we can get back to League Two I think he would prefer better. I have a feeling the smaller grounds, lack of fans and standard of the division has Enzio not wanting it.

He might be blaming himself for the clubs relegation too, something other than his form is going on.

To be fair, he did okay last season and became an escape goat by some fans who singled him out for not defending.

I feel he almost kept us up, with some of his goals we could have been doomed. I feel he played some of his best performances under Harry Kewell, those back to back wins Notts racked up largely came from Enzio playing at his best.

Yes, it's an annoying subject and he could do better.

I think this mostly falls on Neal Ardley's shoulders, he needs to be a bit more hands on with Enzio. Explain what he wants to see, put his arm around him and praise him for the good bits. His confidence seems shot, but to answer the question there's no way the money can be made back.

"Strive not to be a success, but rather to be of value."

I don't think Notts will get any money for Enzio back, I can see he end up on free or being mutually released so he can go somewhere.

I would hope he succeeds here, but he has been very poor this season.

No chance at all. If you want a figure fee for a player at this level he needs to be an absolute star performer, someone with exceptional potential. Enzio is a winger who blows hot and cold, and to be honest they're ten a penny. He's probably also on wages that would be prohibitive for most if not all League Two clubs, and would be too much of a risk for League One. There's the possibility of a bankrolled National League club with more money than sense coming in for him (I'm thinking a certain suburb of Blackpool), but would we sell him to a rival?

In any case we could probably forget a fee. If he went on a free transfer we'd save a tidy amount on wages freed up, but I can't see it happening till the summer. Until then, we just need to get the best out of him, but that's easier aid than done. Maybe a bit more competition for his spot in the team will help now.

No, there won't be any return for Notts for him. He's nearing the wrong age and his career hasn't been the best since arriving here, a great player on his day. Issue is this isn't often enough.
