The Pride of Nottingham PONcast episode 45 is now live!

Join @Chris and @Magic magpie as they discuss the recent 3-1 win over Crawley Town.

The PON duo talk about how Notts have improved as of late and whilst under Harry Kewell's management.

In addition we speculate who may replace the suspended Rob Milsom in this weekend's fixture, along with a League Two round-up. Chris and Magic Magpie also cast their eyes on the upcoming game against Macclesfield Town

What do you think about the discussion?

Have your say on this weeks Pride of Nottingham PONcast.

This came up as a Facebook memory, one of Grandson George’s first matches:

————————

Conversation with George at the match.

George: Grandad, where is the referee?

Me (pointing): It's that man over there with black shorts, grey shirt and a white stick.

After a pause, me: Can you see him?

George: I can see a man with black shorts and a grey shirt but I can't see his white stick. (Laughter all round)

Me: He hasn't really got a white stick.

George: Well why did you say he had then, silly.

So what are your thoughts on John stead being captain.?

Firstly, just to let everyone know I'm probably not going to get around to updating the scores and table for this round until Monday. I'm going to be staying in Bristol over the weekend for the western league groundhop, which will see me take in just the 7 games this weekend! One friday night, four on Saturday and two on Sunday. My idea of Christmas!

Saturday's Fixtures:
Millwall v Aston Villa
Preston North End v Wigan Athletic
Bradford City v Sunderland
Peterborough United v Barnsley
Forest Green Rovers v Newport County
Yeovil Town v Exeter City

Good morning PoN, it’s a cloudy start up in them there hills of Derbyshire, we are in our van camping with friends, had a lovely nights sleep funny enough we always do it must be the fresh air.

We are having a country walk later and maybe a coffee and cake in Ashbourne.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning - just! A bit late today.

What a lovely day we are still camping in the van, we had a great night last night 22 of us went to the bar on the campsite and had a lovely meal and a few pints of the local brew which is actually brewed on site in their micro brewery.

Today we are relaxing in the sun, we may have a walk later just to get a bit of exercise.

Have a good day everyone.

Just wanted to say a H-U-M-O-N-G-O-U-S "thank you" to all those from PoN who voted for me in the recent Supporter Liaison Officer, election. And thanks, everyone for your good wishes.

I'm O-V-E-R-J-O-Y-E-D to have been successful in becoming your Fan-elected S.L.O., and am so looking forward to helping the historic club that  I L-O-V-E and it's supporters, through the next Chapter of our "bring-it-on's!"

Rob Holland, from whom I'm due to take over, doesn't actually finish in-post, until November. However, I understand he may have some work-related commitments that may take him away earlier than that and I await confirmation from the club, on this. I will let you know once my 'official' start date is known.

In the meantime, I've set-up a dedicated facebook S.L.O. account, here:- https://www.facebook.com/loz.clough

In addition, to a dedicated S.L.O. Twitter account, here: https://twitter.com/LozClough

and can be contacted via pm and/or dm, on either account.

At home matches, I can also be found in The Broken Wheelbarrow, from approximately 1:30pm, onwards, or alternatively, I'm seated at:- Pavis/Area: FL/Row: E/190 - which is immediately to the right of the stairs.

I'm approachable, visible, a good-listener and will usually "find an answer", so if you have a club-related problem you need help with, please don't hesitate to find me! Find me anyways and introduce yourselves, just so I can put a face to all of these 'tags'!

Additionally, if you've any "ideas" (about anything) you think the club should be doing, looking at, or isn't doing very well, I'd love to hear from you.

Again, you will never know just how much your votes/support has been/is, appreciated.

Loz x

I've had an email from Kirsty Edwards offering me a free upgrade to Club 155, for tomorrow nights match, what is club 155 and what can I expect if I take up the offer.

So my question is would you change the defence when everyone is fit or leave is as it is.?

This isn’t aimed at any player just a question .. as my grandad (also a County fan)  always said if its not broke don’t fix it.?

Has anyone been or is going to Goose Fair this year?

I don’t think we’ll bother, we sometimes go just to have a wander round but the rides are very expensive and I often wonder how safe they are.

Who was your Man of the Match for Notts County's League Two game at Macclesfield Town?

So that is it ... I don't want him running the club anymore. I am aware of the saying 'Be careful what you wish for' but I have had enough of him.

He is an arrogant, selfish, dangerous and heartless man. His twitter rant last night about driving tipped me over the edge. Frustrating isn't the word, if he is the ambassador of the club then we might as well pack our bags now!

He overtook the supporters bus and a small white van on double white lines yesterday. He then tried to defend his actions by saying he does a lot of miles and hasn't had a crash yet. Bit hypocritical though considering that he is going to court to testify against his speeding fines and faces a ban from driving 77mph in a 40 zone. He seems to think the rules don't apply to him. He then went on a rant about how old people are shocking drivers which is such a generic comment to make and isn't true.

I also caught him on his phone coming out of Sixfields the other week and I have just had enough of the bloke to be honest. He is a ... think you can fill in the blank.

The fact he has George in net too at half time makes us look like a laughing stock. So kids get to score a goal past George? Whoopy Do ... thats such an achievement. Stick Max Culverwell in net or something make it something entertaining. Also the KOP and Pavis cheer every time he concedes which is just setting the kid up to fail bless him. Not fair on him.

I want him gone! End of! Such a poor role model and ambassador for the club ... embarrassing.

Can anyone explain or try to make understanding of why Harry Kewell played Shaun Brisley in midfield against Macclesfield Town?

So next saturdays Home tie against Oldham now to take place on the 6th November due to international call ups.

Dont know about you guys but this is daft yes Oldham have 3 players called up but not first team players but squad players.

Thoughts ladies and gentleman

Away days are fantastic I love em don’t matter what ground .. Macclesfield was my first (today) and I loved it despite looking through the goal net for 90 minutes it was worth it seeing the goal go in was awesome no words could describe.. I’ve got a few grounds I want to tick off this season.

Anyone else have any away day grounds they want to kick off.?

So my question is as above is Fitzsimons starting to look like our number one.?

So forest green rovers are still undefeated as they drew 1-1 with Newport after 12 games.

So my question is as follows ...

Could Forest Green win the league/gain promotion.?

How long will they go undefeated for.?

Fitzsimons 7.5 Joint Motm Fantastic save at the end to preserve the 3 points. Well protected and produced the saves when needed

Tootle 6 More assured though still not getting into attacking positions as he was last season

Turley 6 Does what it says on the tin. Dont take chances if there is danger

Ward 6 Positions himself well, reads the game well and is alert to danger

Evina 6 Always uses the ball well, defensive duties without too much worry

Hewitt 6 winning midfield headers and cover tackling back. Still passing has a lot to be desired

Brisley 3 Looking lost in the role he was asked to do. Surprised he wasn't subbed at half time

Boldewijn 6 Always look the only live wire at times, nice penalty won but was initially from his own mistake... Defensive duties on a par with Stanley ...not strong enough at times

Alessandra 6 Looking far more settled, but still always checks. Had a good chance to shoot but bottled it

Stead 7.5 Joint Motm with Fitz... Proves that you need a tall striker in this division...what was Nolan thinking? Nicely taken penalty when keeper expected the ball to his left

Hemmings 5.5 missed a sitter...works hard but lacks the clinical finish in front of goal

Morning all, it’s a bright sunny start so far, temperatures are due to climb the next few days so it’s an ideal time to set off in our camper van.

We are meeting up with around 25 friends at a campsite in Derbyshire for a little get together and some fun and laughter.

Have a great day whatever you are doing.

  • Overall, we can’t moan too much. We needed to play ugly and hard to win for a while, so can’t really complain when we do just that. Pleased by Enzio and Stead and Fritz looking solid. It seems, for the moment, we have a good formula. The test, which Nolan failed imo, is the ability to change it up when needed because we don’t want to become reliant on the ugly wins. We want to win convincingly. At the moment HK is playing it safe. Hence the Brisley game. By all accounts he wasted the shirt so will Kate HK think more seriously about how we change it up.

80th minute mark I felt like the game would end up a tie and the win can be thankful for the excellent save by Fitzsimons. I hope he has overcome the blip he went through. Beating Macclesfield is a good result but the performances away from home do need work.

So it’s monday and that means it’s guess the magpie. @Chris has prepared another one for us this week I’ll reveal the magpie Saturday night. The very best of luck guys and girls.E3B80E5D-BC1D-49AD-9421-F9750472D898.jpeg
