Notts have finally released a proper retro shirt that closely matches the original. I hope the club continues working with partners like this to bring back classic designs. Iโ€™ve never been keen on the cheap stuff The Terrace has put out.

I fear I have missed out on my chance at a purple shirt, 3 times this season its been in my basket, ready to checkout and the time its taken for me to type my Debit Card details, shirt out of stock.

The latest offing, email received at 1629 'In stock, Medium' i was on the shop page at 1633, tried to purchase 2, got a 'not enough stock' dropped it to 1, checked out at 1635. wallet grabbed, debit card typed in and BOOM, out of stock by 1638. tried to do it on the computer in case it was my phone being shite and already gone. So genuinely: Do we have the fastest fingered fans in the EFL? or is Notts on a personal mission to prevent me getting a purple shirt? is this Notts' way of telling me purple just isn't my colour?

Seperately, if anyone has bought 1 too many medium purple shirts; I'll be willing to discuss a purchase! bonus if you bought two so I can sort out my marge too but every man for himself in this purple shirt wasteland.

And finally, IF anyone who is in charge of Procurement and Purchasing at the club shop is reading this, if you're gonna run a limited edition next season. I AM BEGGING you, please please ensure supply matches demand...

RIP Purple third kit, gone but not forgotten (at least for this 'pie)

  • @themightymagpies,I get ya, and agree re; Notts' poor rewards for loyalty, but to counter, I; like many, live outwith Nottingham, I'm definitely a fan, and get to a game when I can; but I wouldn't qualify for that, nor would I stand a hope of, considering it can cost upwards of 100 quid for a ticket down south at times.

I think for Kit, DEFINITELY put a restriction on how many can be purchased; especially for high-demand items (Adult medium for instance) and maybe a 'club reward system' points based, and a certain amount of points equals a level; for example:

    Season ticket holder: 100 points

Multiple year season ticket holder: 250 points

Audio Pass holder (piesplayer): 50 points

Per shop purchase: 5 points per 10ยฃ spent.

    then levels up with rewards:

    50 points = 10% discount in shop

100 points = 1 free video pass for a match not on Sky

    etc.

If something like that is implemented, a rewards based system for purchase, they can easily control the demand for things like limited edition shirts, by releasing it in the tiers, so top tier gets access 2 weeks before, mid tier gets access 1 week before, then general release. it also will encourage sign-ups to mailing lists etc meaning they can sell more ad space.

I tell you, get me in front of the Notts Marketing team and we'll be buying Prem Players in no time! ;)

Sadly, we are Notts County, a club where mistakes do happen, and common sense doesnโ€™t always come through.

Thatโ€™s why we have the chant, โ€œI had a wheelbarrow, the wheel fell off,โ€ because it feels like Notts were the ones who gave it to us that way. All jokes aside, the club is bound to get things wrong now and then, but Iโ€™d like to believe theyโ€™ve taken something from the experience.

I canโ€™t imagine the Reedtz brothers were pleased with the reaction or the letdown.

Are you too fussed about the backup keeper? With Alex Bass already here, and as long as he stays fit and ready, I'm curious to know what kind of keeper people would want brought in. I wouldnโ€™t mind if the club signed a young, promising keeper to work under Bass, while still keeping space for a youth player to step in as the third choice if needed.

If the second-choice keeper can develop, get better, and prove reliable when called upon, that would be the best situation for us in my view.

  • To be honest, I think Notts could look overseas again when bringing someone in. Iโ€™d be surprised if we didnโ€™t end up signing someone from a smaller European country this time.

Thereโ€™s so much talent out there, and as long as the work permit or placement isnโ€™t a problem, I really think we might do just that.

To be fair it's the most thankless of roles in the squad. Normally it means if they're playing, there's a huge amount of pressure because of injury/suspension so every eye is on the player just look at Brookes a season or two ago. I think it'd need to be someone with a decent amount of games played.

I wouldn't mind seeing Archie Mair back. He never looked the most confident in goal, but there was clear potential there. Itโ€™s been a few seasons since he was with us, and our defence has come on a lot since then. I do think thereโ€™s something in going for someone more experienced.

At 24, you'd expect Mair to have played more games by now. That lack of match time is a bit of a concern.

Maybe we should be looking for a keeper who's had regular first team action, but also knows what itโ€™s like to be a backup. That balance could suit us well.

๐ŸŽ‰Happy birthdy, @Fan of Big Tone. I hope you have a wonderful day. ๐Ÿฅณ๐ŸŽŠ

55 years ago today, one of the best, if not the best international team, won the 1970 World Cup Final.

That Brazil team was simply sensational & they played a very good Italy team off the field.

As a thirteen year old I watched most of the matches on the BBC & ITV. The pictures were grainy but we were all used to that.

The pace of the match has increased, though not every game is this back and forth. It was a fantastic final. At times it felt like walking football, but the quality was still easy to see. Once the goals started going in, the match really came to life. I've watched older World Cup matches, and even when you already know the outcome, they can still be good fun to watch.

i have never had that connection with watching the world cup or euros, not when i was younger. it was only after 2010 when i first showed real interest in football, and that was more notts. i do like seeing games like this tho, you can appreciate how things have improved and its even better when people share their memories of it. watching the highlights, brazil still have no improved that much in defence. by far the best going forward, the level of confidence is off the scale.

Agent Trev on Twitter seems to think weโ€™re working on Luke Williams deal - could it be

  • Agent Trev makes up a lot of things. Every now and then, something might turn out to be true, but most of the time it's just nonsense. He's really not worth paying attention to. Some people used to think it was just a Notts fan having a laugh and trying to cause a stir.

I keep wondering when the club will announce the new head coach. It sounds like an agreementโ€™s already in place and weโ€™re just waiting for things to be finalised. If the contractโ€™s done and it is the Danish coach, things could still shift if they reach the final. I doubt weโ€™re the only ones keeping an eye on him, but hopefully weโ€™ll hear something soon.

Surely it's time for the new kit to be unveiled? Several other teams who are with Puma have already unveiled theirs, but we tend to take longer about it...

I would like a simple design with black and white stripes on the front and back, black shorts and white socks. Prefer slightly more white than black on the shirt. No yellow or grey please. I'm aware this is a forlorn hope.

Just so we don't get our hopes up, here's tlwhat Puma have foisted on teams competing in the club world cup this summer:

Iam quite sure some of you read the footymad Notts County site....it always seems to be off limits to me for the last couple of days......does anyone know whats going on????.....many thanks..

Itโ€™s that time of year again, with no actual football to be discussed something has to fill all the sports websites... But donโ€™t fret you can keep tabs and discuss all the latest Notts rumours (*that are usually wrong) here.

So far weโ€™ve had; McGoldrick to MK? Jatta to Bolton? And now Matthew Dennis to Notts?

  • I would say the Football League World site is definitely more credible than someone just posting on social media, they had the story about us signing Matthew Dennis and back in January they reported that we were going to sign Whitaker, which we did... They certainly donโ€™t just make things up.

Because of this Iโ€™d be inclined to think that holding talks Norburn is something the club has done, but Iโ€™m sure theyโ€™ll be other clubs interested in him too. I wouldโ€™ve thought he was a little bit out of our league in terms of wages but I guess with Didzy leaving that makes this more of a possibility. Heโ€™s a decent League 1 player so heโ€™d be a good/very good League 2 player.

As for Jamie Walker, only got 16 starts for Bradford this season I can't say I know much about him but if was really good surely he'd have started a lot more matches (and Bradford would've wanted to keep him).

Exclusive: Bromley open talks to sign Crystal Palace's Ol...

Bromley have opened talks to sign Crystal Palace striker Ola-Adebomi amid growing interest from rival EFL clubs.

We are one of the rivals according to this report. Clearly a talented young-player, perhaps a bit like Whitaker a touch raw but could become a really good player.

Does anyone still visit their local cinema to watch films? Are there any recommendations for movies to look out for in 2025?

I havenโ€™t been for a few years now. With so many streaming services, there comes a point when you start to wonder if heading out to watch something would be a better choice.

  • There are many wonderous films out at the moment, the new Mission Impossible the final reckoning with the evergreen Tom Cruise. The new Jurassic Park one if you like dinosaurs. How to train your dragon if you have one? Salt Path, a true story of how a life can be lost and recovered. If you are into horror/Thriller 28 years later is for you.

That's all from film 24/7 the MDPie franchise. ๐Ÿ˜Ž

I havenโ€™t been to the cinema for a while, but I do watch films on streaming services when theyโ€™re released. I prefer watching them at home. The only time a cinema is worth it is when a great horror film comes out, though these are rare these days.

For @cheeky~k8's birthday, last Decemeber we went to watch Moana 2. We used to go quite often, what with having three children, but the pricing and the fact they are all teens means that it's a lot harder. Even when we could, getting all three to agree and be motivated is a real task. I asked Jake if he wanted to go watch "28 Years Later", but he just text back "I don't really know". ๐Ÿคฃ Yes, I text him from time to time as otherwise he acts like I am trying to wind him up. ๐Ÿซฃ

The girls are on about going to watch "How to train your dragon" soon, I wouldn't mind going but I am also mindul that when I am at football with Jake, they just stay at home and never really do anything special.

I think it's important for them to bond.

Looking at what is currently showing, I am not all that bothered about anything else.

i am not trying to spread any of the rumours, but i am curious as to if people think jatta might end up being sold before this season gets underway?

there has been comments on social media that doncaster are interested, others have said plymouth are still interested. notts would have learned that selling the main goal scorer surely costs the club with its ambitions and would try to hold onto him? i dont think we have a ready replacement, mai traore still looked like he needs time and matthew dennis does not look like someone who will be pushed to be our main striker.

im not trying to worry anyone, i just think it would be interesting to see thoughts on this?

  • Without a new striker coming in, Iโ€™m unsure where weโ€™d get the goals that Alassana Jatta provides. His ability to hold up play and make a nuisance of himself is something weโ€™d miss. A good offer might tempt the club, but it should lead to reinvestment. I hope we secure a few more players who can help with scoring goals.

I can't believe he got a 6 match ban for that! Seems way too harsh it was all handbags stuff after the challenge. Threatening behaviour, really? Are the Wimbledon players children or something? Are we sure it's not just clarifying it's a 3 match ban, surely they would've said additional 3 matches? It's slightly ambiguous wording to me or at least that's what I'm hoping!

Anyway, back to the original question I don't think the club would want to sell him but as we've found out with Macca and Crowley if a club comes in with a price that they think more than matches or excels their valuation of him then he could well be sold. And it also depends a bit on which club comes in for him, if it was a Championship club or a club from a top tier league in another county, Jatta himself might feel it's an opportunity to good to turn down.

If the right offer comes in, I would accept. He didn't seem the same player as he was at the start of the campaign. That offer would have to be between north of 400k.

I think, like quite a few of the players currently at the club, he will improve under a new gaffer and playing in a better system, where he is allowed to run in behind and where our build-up play is played at an intensity quicker than glacial erosion.

Dennis won't be a starter and so, even though I think we still need another striker, if Jatta did leave, it would give us the chance to bring in a more physical option (e.g. Michael Mellon or Freddie Draper) to play alongside a striker in the Langstaff mould.

Not bad for Jatta's first full season in the EFL.

  • I wish him every success and hope he can make a real difference with the academy lads coming through. If he can guide them, support them, and give them a bit of belief, thereโ€™s no reason it canโ€™t work out.

    Welcome, Nimesh Patel.

He didnโ€™t really need to highlight that heโ€™s the first South Asian Head of Coach Development in academy football in England. If youโ€™re good at what you do, that should be what matters most. Saying that makes it sound like where heโ€™s from played a big part in the decision. Iโ€™m sure heโ€™s proud of his background, and thatโ€™s fair enough. But the message could have focused more on what he wants to achieve. It came across as a bit too much about him and less about the job.

Iโ€™d much rather hear someone talk about how vital it is to guide young players and help them get the best from their careers. Thatโ€™s the heart of the role. Letโ€™s hope he keeps his feet on the ground and stays focused on the work, not himself. Thereโ€™s no room for egos in youth development. Itโ€™s about the players, not the spotlight.

  • Footballers come and go, and when a signing like this happens, it's natural not to know what to expect. Sometimes, though, these signings bring something different to the team. We can be quite predictable, and as long as he has the ball control expected at a professional level, he should do well. If he's not good enough, he won't get much game time, but I'm sure he'll be eager to impress.

If he does well, weโ€™ll be happily surprised. But if he struggles to keep up with our level, at least his contract isnโ€™t as long as some of the signings weโ€™ve made before.

Will Randall arrived with a fair bit of excitement, and that didnโ€™t work out. Sometimes the ones who come in quietly and go under the radar turn out to be solid squad players.

  • Cedwyn Scottโ€™s face does make it seem like heโ€™s been on the spirits. Heโ€™s on holiday and enjoying himself, let him have his man crush on Geraldo Bajrami. Great picture!

Nice to see theyโ€™ve stayed in touch, you could tell there was a real harmony to that promotion winning team.

Great to see Bajrami looking well though, to have had back-to-back ACL injuries is awful luck. I canโ€™t see why not @Chris, but heโ€™ll probably be incredibly nervous when he first gets back playing next season, I really hope he can stay injury free for a while.

Still think Cedwyn shouldโ€™ve stayed with us, but if heโ€™s happier elsewhere thatโ€™s what really matters.

    @menzinho, Fully agree.

If we had played him more as a striker, we might have kept him. He clearly felt lost when Macaulay Langstaff left, and when living away from family, having good friends like that is important.

I wish he had stayed, but we let him focus on his health and what was best for him. Not all clubs would do that.
